Who are THE HUNTERS?
Here’s a brief introduction from Jonathon Payne:
Several years ago, back when DJ and I were still on active duty, the Pentagon asked us to meet a specialist named Jack Cobb. The top brass felt he would be an outstanding addition to the MANIACs, but we strongly disagreed with their assessment. Not because he was incompetent, but because Cobb was so impressive we felt he should be running his own unit. At least that’s what I thought. Who really knows what DJ is thinking? I stopped listening to him back in the 90s.
Anyway, Cobb and I have crossed paths a few times over the years, and my initial impression hasn’t wavered: he is smart, tough, and deadly. The kind of guy who can kill you with either end of a pencil. In other words, kind of like me.
The main difference between us? I left the military on good terms, whereas Cobb was asked to leave for reasons neither of us can fully understand. Trust me, I’ve read the classified files, and his actions were worthy of decoration, not dismissal.
Since the incident, Cobb’s whereabouts have been largely unknown. But recently, I heard a rumor that Cobb had assembled a crew for something big. Something overseas. Details are sketchy at best, but if what I heard is correct, it sounds like Cobb will have a whole lot of money—and bullets—headed his way.
