Chapter 2 The Cathedral of Learning is the centerpiece of the University of Pittsburgh’s main campus. Standing 535 feet high, the Cathedral is the tallest educational building in the Western hemisphere and the second tallest university building in the world.

Chapter 4 The Nationality Rooms are a collection of twenty-seven classrooms in the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning. They represent the ethnic groups that helped build the city of Pittsburgh. Twenty-five of the rooms are in almost constant use as functional classrooms, while the other two are display rooms which can be explored via guided tours.

Chapter 7 Heinz Memorial Chapel is open daily throughout the year, except for University holidays. It hosts approximately 1,500 events annually. The events include religious services, weddings, concerts, classes, memorial services, and guided tours.

Chapter 27 Bruges is the capital of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as "The Venice of the North".

Chapter 46 The Belfry of Bruges is a medieval bell tower in the historical center of Bruges. One of the city's most prominent symbols, it was featured on the American hardcover of THE PROPHECY and was seen in the movie In Bruges.

Chapter 46 Geneva is the second most-populous city in Switzerland (after Zürich). Situated where the Rhône River exits Lake Geneva, it is the capital of the Republic and Canton.

Chapter 53 Michel de Nostredame (Nostradamus) was a French apothecary and reputed seer who published collections of prophecies that have since become famous worldwide. He is best known for his book Les Propheties.

Chapter 61 ― Lausanne is located in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. The city is headquarters to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
